United henta inn Sanchez i Januar.
The days before the Premier League finally kicks off is usually a unique feeling. Only football fans can relate and I can only compare it with being really in love. The tickling feeling.. you’re excited and it’s the only thing on your mind. Well, that’s how I feel about getting to see United again. Usually.. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to the PL to start again, but I can’t point my finger at it, but it’s just not quite the same this time.. Maybe it’s because I spent the summer in Russia and watch some really good games over there and this World Cup was amazing, we’ve had some good football this summer and maybe because of that I’m not that ‘hungry’ on football and United like before after a long summer break..? And this pre-season has been a bit ‘amputated’ because so many key players are missing. And also no big signings, just a lot of rumors.. That, and the amount of negativity online just puts me down. I’m normally very updated, but this past weeks I’ve avoided Facebook/Twitter etc because it’s too much shit there. I agree it’s been a disappointing transfer window- but come on- the season hasn’t started yet and people are talking about falling outside top 4.
Many of our best players has been on vacation during the pre season and the results of that we all have seen. But I won’t judge this pre season and the performances too hard because it’s not been the real United. It’s fair that the youngsters doesn’t play as good as the first team. But they will benefit from getting to play games for United.
It’s been a hard transfer window this summer because of the World Cup, but I have to say I’m disappointed and was hoping that we at least had two new players signed and ready by now. It’s even more disappointed that the club announced just a new sponsor deal the other the. The frustration was real when I read the first words and then realized it was a sponsor and not a player!
I wished United could be more ruthless. Darmian, Jones, Smalling, Fellaini, Valencia and Young (I could mention more players!) won’t win us the league. We are far behind the other teams and that worries me. ‘Be ruthless or suffer’…
With the clubs resources I have to say I’m allowed to be disappointed. I also kind of like that Mourinho talks to the media and put pressure on Woodward and the club. He’s defiantly not a yes man and I give him credit for that. I don’t agree with everything he says and does (definitely not!), but the man get criticized for EVERYTHING he does. He’s in charge, either we like it or not. He will never be like Klopp and Guardiola, we all knew that when United put him in charge- which I still believe it’s the right choice! He’s Mourinho and our manager, I’ll give him this season before I judge him. But things have to change, as I said, he’ll never do his job like Klopp and Guardiola, he got his way of doing things and his own philosophy, but I do think it’s necessary that he’s willing to change something. We got a pretty good squad, but he hasn’t got the best out of them yet. He needs to change curtain things because 0 shots in 90 minutes won’t win us the league. That gotta change. Let the horses run free Jose!
But I also get that he’s frustrated when he clearly have asked about new players, when he has name dropped 5 players to Ed he better deliver something. If not he need to leave the club, he’s good with business, Manchester United is still one of the biggest clubs in the world with the best sponsor deals and he’s making money. But if we don’t win trophies the success has an expiry date and it’s getting closer and closer. They need to work together. Today’s the transfers deadline day and hopefully we get Alderwereild (or Maguire) in and that’s an improvement. I don’t want the club to buy overpriced players, I’m happy we signed Fred and Dalot because that’s good in the long run. We also got Sanchez in January and let’s not forget that he’s world class. It’s was a big player we got and I’m sure he’ll reliever this season. Looked sharp this summer and pairing up good with Mata. Important for tomorrow! It will be an interesting evening tonight and fingers crossed for one signing.
Even though I get some of the criticism to the club and Mourinho, let’s try and be a little positive. We got 7 semi finalist and one World Cup winner in our squad. We’re playing academy boys and we got the best goal keeper in the world!
I’m as we speak in air, on my way to Manchester. And I got the tickling feeling now. Tomorrow I’m at the Stretford End, watching the team walks out whit Stone Roses blasting out… I can’t wait!
One day to go!
True, the transfer window has been disappointing…but we have one thing these other clubs haven’t : Ann Mari Olsen… They can keep their Jorginho’s, Allisons, Bernards,.. for all I care.
