Sist United vant Premier League/ the last time United won the League

English version further down

The photos is from the last time United won the league. I celebrated in my own way of course. Maybe not in a traditional way, but it was fun! I still worked as a model at that time so I had a make up artist who painted every inch of my body in GOLD and we did a photo shoot. I also won a competition in the Scandinavian support club on how fans celebrated the victory! Good old days…

2013 was the year, and what a season that was. I have many funny stories about my self and United, and one of them is when Robin van Persie scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa and United had won the league! I was watching the game in a pub with friends and I got so excited and happy that I fainted. Went straight down, after my friends asked if I was ok- which I was, we continued celebrating the night trough. Haha, good times for sure.

But 2013 is a long time ago. I love Premier League and put that higher than Champions League actually. Everything can happen in a Cup and it's not necessarily the best team that wins it, but to win Premier League you are the best. It's not debatable if you ask me..

There are only 13 days to go until the 2018/19 season kicks off and those days will go fast! We're halfway trough the pre-season and if transfers will be made, it will happen before the start of the season so exiting days ahead.. Or at least I hope.. We manage to win the league in 2013 with maybe the most mediocre team that ever won the league. But we did it because as a team they were solid, we had a deadly striker and most of all they had Sir Alex Ferguson. Jesus made wine out of water, SAF won the league with Büttner, Cleverly and Evans, I don't know what's most remarkable?! But with SAF it was possible and his last season was for sure something very special..

The fans are now getting impatient. And I understand many of them.. I'm not the supporter who necessarily need to win a trophy every season, I knew the road would be tough, hard and bumpy after Ferguson. The new manager need time to build his team and our boss now is Mourinho. He said 'judge me after three years' and I totally respect that. He will get time. I understand that many fans don't want him, I don't agree on everything he does- but he got my support. The last years hasn't been good for United, but he need to build his team. And we need to back him. When he took over it wasn't a 'Mourinho' team, but this is his third season and now I want results. There's been progression and I believe with some new players we can win the league. That also means things gotta start happen now. If you ask me we need a replacement for Valencia and Young (if Shaw isn't in Mourinhos plan), the defense must be our priority but we also need to strengthen the team all over. I'd say give the youngster a chance now and then, but we need something solid and it's a long season. If we're going to try and compete with the top clubs we MUST expand our squad.

I think Perisic is a very exciting player, think he'd fit United well. Alderweireld is good and I'd rather see him than Maguire tbh. But I have no idea what Mourinho wants, he got his favorites and hard to tell what his plan is. I would love to see Bale also, he's probably the most realistic world class player to sign, but I don't have my hopes up, I don't think Real will sell him now. But one thing is sure; we need to buy players. Interesting weeks ahead.

How important is pre-season?

Pre-season, silly-season.. The fans are split on how important this 'season' is and how much they put into it. I watch every game, even though it's in the middle of the night and I got work hours later. It's not the regular matchday feeling- at all! But it's still a game and I want to see 'my' players in action. Massive respect to all the foreign supporters that does this regularly!

It won't 'kill' me if we lose a game, but it's always a indicator on how they played. Pre-season is for me first of all to get the players fit. To work as a team and try out different tactics, it's also team building that hopefully makes the team stronger for the upcoming season.

But this is maybe the most important pre-season in a long time? United gotta make sure they are ready for Leicester and without several key players, the players we have available MUST be fit and ready. The more I think about it, the more concerned I get. Leicester is not an easy game, at all. With all our players available, we should win every day of the week against them. But in this situation I'm not sure. Only Tottenham got more players not available, but there's no point using this as an excuse. It is what it is, and United need to prepare for it. It's Mourinho and his staffs job to make sure they got a starting XI fit and ready for the first round. I'm going to write more deeply about my thoughts for the upcoming season in my next blog post, but I can already say that we won't win the Premier League this season if this is our squad when the league kicks off. We are up there, of course we got a chance, but City is a way better, stronger team. They have solid back ups, we don't. So if we're going to have a chance we have to have a perfect start and don't mess up.

That's why this pre-season is so important. Winning the games isn't what's matter, but getting the team fit and that THEY PLAY AS A TEAM. If they do that, they will also win games. It goes hand in hand. I've watched the first game, twice actually and even though I don't put too much in it, it was poor. Too slow and bad passes. Boring. Also good moments, Chong showed his skills and many young boys got the chance to play. Matas goal was good football. Matic has joined the team now and the same with Sanchez. I think it's blameworthy that the club didn't sort his visa out before they left, but he's there now and he will with no doubt be the player (with Martial) who needs to step up from game week 1!

Tonight United plays against San Jose Earthquake. I think this game will be better. The players aren't jet lagged anymore, they've been training well and more used to the temperature.
